Mildred Ganong's Cookies
Not long ago, I posted another recipe that I got from this dear lady for date squares. I would guess that this is a very old recipe. It is very good and easy to make. These are the cookies I have been using for prizes for the mystery vocalist contest.

1 cup butter
1 1/4 cups brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 cup coconut
1 1/2 cups rolled oats

Cream first 4 ingredients. At this point I beat in the baking powder and then mix in the remaining dry ingredients.

Roll into balls and put onto a greased cookie sheet.Press down with a fork.

Bake at 375 degrees for 12 about minutes until golden brown.
